Why Dallas Rocks
IN PRINT
Journalism
A great writer is not necessarily a great editor, or vice versa. Editing is an art form within itself, and once a piece is in print, the hallmark of a great editor is that you only recognize the writer in the prose. Below are a few examples:
This piece was written by a novice writer with lots of heart. The author was telling her own story and it needed lots of shaping.
Editor’s note: These were written by award winning writer Shelley Hawes Pate, a journalist with a voice that shouldn’t be steered.
Editing
Tanya has published 15 novels and is currently working on a new, three-book series and a novella due out next year. No, she doesn’t ghost write.
